Subpages for my teen book recommendation page

I thought my subpages could be for different book categories. Instead of using the traditional fiction, non-fiction, mystery, science fiction, etc- I thought that I might use an emotion for each category. There could be a banner asking How you doin'? The book recommendation would be based on that emotion- its' reflection or its' opposite. For example: the i am stressed link would lead to books about charaters as stressed out as you are, or to books about how to chill out. Other links might be i'm jealous, i'm in love, i feel spiritual, i feel curious, or i feel sad. For the sad choice a recommendation might be the short story White Angel by Michael Cunningham which explores grief, or else an uplifting story like - ?

"Teenagers need their black"-FengShui in 10 Simple Lessons

As FengShui author Jane Butler-Biggs explains, "teens need thier black". It feeds thier transformation and since transform they must, I shall incorporate black into my website color scheme. They also tend to go for bright reds and other garish colors because, "fire energy lights the way forward". Okay by me, I'll splash some of them on the page too. I need to think about using a black background which I really don't want to do, or accessorizing the page with black in some other ways. Kind of like graphic throw pillows. As for the garish colors, perhaps I could find inspiration for them in a YA graphic magazine or at the makeup stand at the drugstore. Or more likely in my very own closet.

Thinking about style and color

I am looking at websites already set up for helping teens with book recommendations. My friend Dawn suggested some of her favorites. For color I liked Teen Reads for its' vibrant eye catching color scheme. Although not as colorful, I liked the content at Teens@Random. Finally, Teen Ink had great interactivity such as the what are your top five favorites section where kids can post things such as their favorite books, movies, foods, and dream vacations.

Anyone have other recommendations for me?

Linda's Website Plans

I want to create a website for young adults to find book recommendations. I plan to put some of my own on the site and to ask young adults to post their own. I hope this topic will work.
